.SHORT TERM...
(This afternoon through Tuesday)
Issued at 225 PM EDT Mon Jun 2 2025
At a glance:
- Some hazy skies will continue as a result of wildfires in
Canada. No significant impact is expected other than pretty
sunrise/sunset conditions.
- Beautiful conditions expected again tomorrow.
A conveyor belt aloft has allowed for the 500mb jet to bring dry
hazy air all the way down from Canada`s wildfires. Strong high
pressure on the front range has created a large ridge aloft which
has helped to filter in some haze. As of now, we`re not expecting
it to cause any issues other than some more dramatic
sunrise/sunsets. As the pattern changes and that ridge breaks down
over the next 36 hours skies should begin to clear out.
Other than that, not much to say about the weather. Highs will be
in the mid to upper 80s with overnight lows comfortably in the
low to mid 60s. Relative humidities will gradually start to rise
as winds become more more southeasterly; but we`ll still be on the
dry side for June. No weather element is expected in the short
term.

.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday morning through next Sunday)
Issued at 225 PM EDT Mon Jun 2 2025
- Isolated rain and/or thunderstorms as early as Wednesday afternoon
- More widespread daily rain and thunder chances expected by the
weekend
Increasingly unsettled weather conditions can be expected as we
enter the extended period (Wednesday through the upcoming
weekend). The main weather features in play will be a northward
migrating surface low (from Florida) between Wednesday and
Thursday and a cold front that will migrate towards the area from
the northwest this weekend. So what does this mean for us in North
and Central GA? Easterly offshore flow in response to the
northward moving surface low may result in isolated to widely
scattered rain and thunder chances for some of our southern
counties between Wednesday and Thursday. As we head into the
weekend a shortwave trough to prompt a cold front southeast
bringing an uptick in rain chances initially for our northern and
northwest counties Friday into Saturday. Rain and thunder chances
will gradually increase as moisture ramps up ahead of the front
over the weekend. Thus, more diurnally enhanced rain and thunder
chances are forecast through at least Saturday and Sunday.
Near normal to slightly above normal temperatures are forecast
from Wednesday to Sunday. Daytime highs will be in the 80s through
the work week climbing into the low 90s by the end of the week
especially over south-central GA. Overnight lows will remain
fairly mild with forecast values ranging from the 60s to low 70s.

Issued at 128 AM EDT Tue Jun 3 2025
VFR conditions are expected through the period. FG/BR may develop
near lakes and rivers overnight, persisting until ~12z. Wildfire

are currently calm, but will increase to 5-10 kts out of the E to
SE mid-morning to early afternoon. Occasional wind gusts to 20 kts
will be possible.
