.UPDATE...
Issued at 826 PM EST Sun Dec 14 2025
Breezy northwest winds continue to usher in much colder, drier
air into the region this evening. A Cold Weather Advisory remains
in effect for all of North and Central Georgia until 8 AM.
Temperatures across the northern two-thirds of the forecast area
have already fallen below freezing and temperatures everywhere will
continue to plummet through the night. Morning lows are forecast
to be in the teens to low 20s but it will `feel like` single
digits to teens making for a very chilly morning commute. Make
sure to prepare accordingly and remember the 4 P`s (pets, plants,
pipes, and people). Forecast remains on track with only a few
updates to winds, temps and dewpoints.

.SHORT TERM...
(This afternoon through Monday)
Issued at 237 PM EST Sun Dec 14 2025
The first real taste of cold is already starting to settle in
across the area after a cold front moved through earlier today.
Strong NNW winds at 15-20mph will continue to gust to around
35mph. Winds are expected to ease late this evening as front sinks
further south. But as the sun goes down, temps are expected to
drop to the coldest we`ve seen yet this year. Overnight lows in
the teens are expected across the CWA with wind chill values
falling into the single digits. A Cold Weather Advisory has been
issued for the entire CWA so please plan for a chilly morning
commute.
The start of the work week will continue to be cold and dry,
though temperatures are expected to rebound some on Tuesday as
ridging from the west builds in and pushes off the upper level low
that brought us the cold in the first place. High pressure will
allow high temps to return to the 50s and 60s with overnight lows
closer to freezing which is closer to what we`d expect to see this
time of year.
